This hymn for the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross (September 14) is from Father Stefan Papp's Duchovňi Pisňi (1969).

In 1969, Father Stefan Papp printed the version above (Duchovňi Pisňi, page 47), with two verses.

The Ukrainian Catholic collection The Divine Liturgy: An Anthology for Worship (2004) gave five verses of this hymn in Slavonic (with the verse two verse matching the first two verses in Duchovňi Pisňi; the melody is very similar to the one above but does not use sycopation. The Slavonic version is said to be the work of O. Nyzhankovs'kyi, who died in 1919.

The same collection provided a setting of two verses of the same hymn in English, with the translation credited to Joseph Roll, Peter Galazja and J. Michael Thompson. The English setting is entitled, "Hail, O victorious life-giving cross."
