The text of this immensely popular hymn to Saint Nicholas, wonder-worker and archbishop of Myra in Lycia, is that of Monsignor William Levkulic, who also published an English translation, O Father Nicholas. It was printed with music in the Metropolitan Cantor Institute's Byzantine Catholic Hymnal for Nativity and Theophany (2007)

The melody is the same as that of the hymn to the Mother of God, "Radujsja, Carice".

The music was reviewed and reworked as part of the Hymnal Project of the Metropolitan Cantor Institute. See the discussion page for details.

This hymn was included in the Užhorod Pisennik (1913) as hymn number 28, with six verses.

Father Stefan Papp's Duchovňi Pisňi (1969) printed this hymn number 40, on page 58). His version consists of verses 1, 2, and 5 from the Užhorod Pisennik (slightly reworded), along with a new final verse.

The text of this hymn, along with an English translation, was published along with the liturgical hymns for the feast of Saint Nicholas in Monsignor Levkulic's The Divine Liturgy, a Book of Prayer (1978), page 104. The text as given by Monsignor Lekvulic (and used above) consists of verses 1, 2 and 5 from the Užhorod Pisennik, with very minor textual differences,
